The Wheeless children

Donation protected

Dear Friends,
I have written this letter many times...only to start over again.

The Wheeless children have gone through more than most would wish on anyone at the ages of 25, 23 and 18. Our oldest son Cameron was a classmate with Nick(18) at Boys' Latin. Nick is now a freshman at St. John's College in Annapolis. Samantha (23) is a graduate of St Timothy's and Loyola College of Md . Max (25)is also a Boys' Latin Alum and graduate of Loyola College. All three of them are bright , talented young adults.

Their father died of cancer 4 days before Nick graduated from BL this past June; then their mother pasted from a heart attack this fall. Neither of the parents had any life insurance and there is no will or savings to be passed onto these children.

Samantha has been the glue keeping this family together, taking Nick to and from school while her parents were ill and then getting herself to college, and then running the family restaurant in Westminster for 2 years until she had to close it this past summer. The family home is without heat and hot water, it is in deplorable condition (and facing foreclosure) and Max continues to go between there and his grandfather's home. Samantha lives with a friends family she knew from St Timothy's.

Nick will stay with our family for Christmas and other school  breaks, as well as this summer. Samantha is interviewing and has some opportunities she is excited about, including a position with Geoff's company. Max just got a job at Men's Warehouse last week.

I absolutely hate to ask people for financial donations, however, if you are looking to make a real difference in someone's life this holiday , these children are in dire need. The funds will go to food , shelter, fuel money, and an account for basic needs so Samantha is able to get what they need for the long term.  We have pulled some winter clothes together but I realize this is more than we can do alone.   I have faith that with the help of others we can make a difference in their lives.

We are in the process of starting a tax exempt trust for the Wheeless Family but that takes time. Christmas is coming and I want to make a difference in the next few weeks for these kids. Whatever you may do, please keep them in your prayers.

We thank you and hope you have a blessed Christmas, Beth and Geoff Adams
