Wheelchair lift for Mark
Donation protected
Hello, I would like to thank everyone in advance for reading. I am attempting to raise money for my father, to have a wheelchair lift installed on his van.
My father has battled diabetes for over 21 years, and he has been insulin dependent since diagnosed. In 2010 his kidneys failed him and he became dependent on dialysis. Fast forward to April of this year [2017] he developed a tenderness in his fingertips. This led to him losing his left hand and two fingers on his right hand. This was caused from neuropathy which is a side effect from prolonged diabetes. Well, no longer than he could heal from having his hand amputated he found his self right back in the hospital to have his right foot removed for the same reasons. Needless to say, 2017 has been extremely hard for him.
However, despite these hardships he has an incredible will to live! His nurses constantly tell him how he has very high spirits considering his circumstances.
My dad is currently at home and recovering, but he has multiple doctors appointments weekly. He already has a van and he obtained a quote to have the lift installed on it and it will cost $3,900. This lift will help tremendously when he has to get to dialysis and dr. appointments. His insurance is fully covering his electric wheelchair and therefore will not cover anything more.
Any donation at all will be immensely appreciated as well as thoughts and prayers.
Again, thank you for reading and may God bless you.
