Wheelchair for Hannah

2+ years ago, I developed ME/CFS. It is a condition that makes it impossible for me to stand or walk for longer than 20 minutes without getting dizzy and falling over. Since conversation also tends to cause a neural shut-down, my previous ministry as a street priest wasn't going to work.

Since I could still read, I decided to start PhD studies in Old Testament in Toronto. The extra work load of studies, combined with the distance between buildings for classes has brought on significantly more worse symptoms than before (as in, out of breath, dizzy, and blacking out going DOWNstairs). I spend most of my classes taking notes while lying on the floor in the corner so I don't pass out or collapse.

So I am looking for ways to reserve my energy. Ideally, I would like to be able to go farther than a block beyond my building. I would also like to use my energy to study rather than getting to class and back. So, I need a motor wheelchair. (Bonus: this particular wheelchair has a reclining back so I can rest during class and participate in the discussion while not being under a desk!)

Because ME/CFS is so little understood in the medical community, there is no definitive diagnostic test for it. Therefore, insurance companies won't cover disability aids. So, I need your help - the sooner the better.
