Loreen is a lovely 10 year old girl who was born in Syria and later moved to Canada with her family in 2017. Loreen enjoys going out into the community with her family; they take family day trips to Niagara and like to participate in BBQs with family and friends. She is a happy girl who enjoys being around others; she is often seen wearing a big smile! Loreen lives with many physical and developmental challenges, requiring frequent medical appointments for therapy and treatment.
She is fully dependant upon others and requires 24/7 supervision and care. The family is in great need of a wheelchair accessible vehicle to allow them to transport Loreen safely to her appointments. The cost of this type of vehicle is very expensive.
Loreen was born with significant health issues. Loreen lives with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy(spastic-dystonic type). She requires total care for all areas of her daily living. Her challenges include a Neuro Degenerative disorder, developmental delays, and scoliosis. She has both sight and hearing deficits. She spends her days in a wheelchair, requiring head, neck and trunk support at all times. She cannot walk or talk. She communicates with facial expressions and augmentative communication devices. Loreen is fed exclusively via a G-tube. She requires
ongoing care, and is supported by a complex medical care teams at children’s hospitals.
Transportation to the appointments are often difficult, as the family does not have a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Parents lift Loreen in and out of their vehicle and which has caused injury to themselves. Parents are unable to maintain consistent work due to their own disabilities and the responsibilities involved in caring for their daughter. Please consider donating to this fund to help parents purchase an accessible vehicle to allow Loreen the medical care she needs, and
community outings with her family.
