Wham Bam Cooperative Change Fund

Tax deductible
Hi all! I wish we could be writing you all during happier times, but we hope you are all safe and well.

I am sure you all have seen numerous organizations from William and Mary showing support for the Cooperative Change Fund, and we would like to do our part. Jazz was founded byand continues to live through black artists, and we need to do our part to support people of color in the fight against police brutality and systemic racism We must commit ourselves to being good allies.

Wham Bam has committed to offering $300.00 to the two organizations that the Cooperative Change Fund supports, Campaign Zero and the National Police Accountability Project, in the hopes of beginning a movement within our greater community. Then, we would like to invite current members, friends, parents, alumni, and more to personally donate to the general Wham Bam fund, which will all be donated as well. For reference, campus organizations have raised more than $30,000 for the CCF and the organizations it supports already (!!!), and we would like Wham Bam to help these organizations get even further.

More information about National Police Accountability Project: The National Police Accountability Project (NPAP) is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to ending police abuse of authority through coordinated legal action, public education, and support for grassroots and victims' organizations combating police misconduct.

However, this is not all you can do! As a predominantly white jazz band, we have a long way to go to educate ourselves on what racism in America looks like and how it manifests itself in our justice system. Please, continue to read, listen to others, and make space for black voices. If you can, stream black artists, share their music, and use your platform for good! If we want things to change, we need to become allies; that means actively using our voices, bodies, money, and platforms in ways that might normally make us uncomfortable to create space for and lift up black people. Black Lives Matter!!!!!!!!!!!
