My mom and dad raised 8 kids. We also had foster children. I don't know how they did it.
But they raised us with a scant amount of cash. Little was available for retirement.
Growing up, my mother (Mary Lu Dillon Weist), made our life fun. She could make the best beaver face, and make us all laugh. She taught us to be brave.
My dad died of double cancers in August of this year. He was caring for mom, who has dementia, in a small trailer home in Florida.
If you can help for my mom's next phase of life, great. It's embarrassing for me to ask. But mom is worth it.
