Help Sharon beat breast cancer!
Don protégé
My name is Carolyn and I am starting this fundraiser for my beautiful sister Sharon Mack. Sharon is a mom of three amazing kids who keep her house bustling and her life busy, just like she always wanted it to be. Her oldest daughter is graduating from High School in June and heading off to college in the fall. Nothing is more important to Sharon than her family, near and far, and making memories with those she loves.
A few weeks ago, Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer. While her prognosis looks good, there will be a long road of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation ahead. About six months ago, Sharon started her new path as an independent woman and began her career in health care, one that she worked hard earning her Masters degree to begin. Unfortunately, as we all know, the bills don't stop and life's expenses don't stop when you get sick. At this time, Sharon's short tenure at her job leaves her with little paid time off and no job protected leave. There are going to be months of needed treatment and recovery time from surgery that will keep her away from her job, and her much needed income.
I am starting this page with the hopes that Sharon's family, friends and community can come together to help her rally through this challenging time. My one wish would be that all Sharon needed to focus on was getting better, and beating cancer, and that she not have to spend her precious energy worrying about money. To any of you who have had the pleasure of knowing Sharon, you know that she is never one to ask for help, but is always the first one to offer it someone else. She has a beautiful, loving and giving spirit that I am sure has touched many of you. Cancer sucks, but I know that my sister will fight hard, and come through this terrible disease as a warrior and a survivor.
I understand that all of us have faced numerous challenges recently. But if you can spare a few dollars to help my beautiful sister get through this terrible nightmare, I know she would be eternally grateful, and so would I.
Much love and thanks to all of you!
