West Side Theater Arts Tour

Fathers Who Care is working to make a difference in the community with its Arts Against Violence Intitative.

Hearts are hurting throughout our city and beyond.  We pray relentlessly for continued hope and healing, yet feel limited in our ability to help effect change. There are many limitations that we CAN lift when we come together in spirit to gift. To gift with a caring heart is the spirit of hope and change pressing us forward to bring about the change we want to see in the world.

The Arts are a healing agent, a cultural soul enriching reward, they are a communitys ally for prosperity and pride. The FWC Arts Against Violence Initiative seeks to effect change through the arts and eradict substance abuse and violence in the community.

In various areas across Chicago (North, South Downtown) the arts are present within theaters, cultural centers, community centers and more breathing life into the communities. They offer value and appreciation to the community and people. Unfortunately, Chicago's west side  greatly lags behind its neighboring communities with regards to cultural enrichment, investment and arts.  The Arts are of divested interest on Chicago's westside. We can change this!

How: West Side Theater Arts Tour
When: Spring 2017
Why: The west side needs change!
Who: FWC - U&I can help it change.

The West Side Arts Tour is an arts movement to present theater productions within west side communities such as West Garfield Park, East Garfield Park, Austin, North Lawndale and Humboldt Park. These productions will be available for the community for 24 weeks beginning Spring 2017 from March 18th - August 26th with your help! There will be free productions for families, friends, churches and social organizations to enjoy! Please SUPPORT and JOIN Fathers Who Care, playwright L. Aaron  in the movement to inspire a community through the Arts Against Violence Initiative.

The arts represent an outlet of expression, that is usually influenced by culture and which in turn helps to change culture. As such, the arts offer a  way to physically manifest change in people. Let U&I give Chicago's West Side Creativity... Art... Theater! Let U&I churn the internal creative impulses and yield to communities yearning for change! Let U&I use the arts as vehicles of peace vigilantly crusading in the community. Let U&I invest in People, Love, Change and Peace!

About L. Aaron:

My name is L. Aaron, I am a Chicago based Social Cause Playwright  who focuses on issues that adversely impacts families and communities. I have written three stage plays and independently produced eight productions since 2012.

Why am I doing the theater tour?

Entertainment speaks to people through people. Something within its artistry resonates with people and allows them to relate to it. In theater there is a saying "All the worlds a stage." If that's the case, lets give the west side a bit of the spot light and let it be great! It is my hope that through these productions we as a people come together to not only entertain but Enter-Change into the hearts and minds of the communities.

Thanks for reading and again please support and share!
