More information about The Lord Mayor Distress Relief Fund: The LMDRF was used as the official state fund to raise and coordinate donations to support the victims of natural disasters occurring within Western Australia during the 2015/16 period. City of Perth administers the LMDRF. All administration costs are wholly absorbed by the City of Perth, so 100 per cent of all money donated go directly to those in need. More than $10 million was raised for the Esperance Fires that occurred in November 2015 and the Waroona and District Fire in January 2016. 100% of donations were distributed to over 550 applicants who lost their homes and/or other property and to the next of kin of those individuals who lost their lives as a result of these two disasters.
