Our dear friend Maria just found out that after years of getting clear scans and being "cancer free" her breast cancer has returned.
She has been treated at the UCLA County hospital in Sylmar as she doesn't have insurance . However unfortunately her care there has been sub-par.
After being told to take specific drugs for her cancer that she felt were making her sicker (which the oncologist are now saying may have caused the cancer to return) to her doctors simply not showing up for her appointments after telling her the cancer has spread throughout her body... it's been quite a nightmare for Maria. But none the less, she remains positive, optimistic, and hopeful.
All Maria wants is to return to her family in Mexico and hopefully be admitted to the Cancer Center of Mexico City where she can fight this awful illness and win.
However, to do so, she needs our help. There are a lot of loose ends to tie up here in LA, as well as unknown medical costs that await her in the future. She wont be able to work and we would love to give her a cushion to be able to focus on getting healthy and staying positive.
Any help would be appreciated. She is a bright light in our community and is always there with a smile supporting her friends in all of our endeavors. Now let’s come together and support her. And if you can't financially support her... please pray for her healing.
