This fundraiser is in loving memory of Sofia's Mom and Papa. Ever since they passed away, Sofia has been through unimaginable pain and grief. Yet she remained steadfast, strong, selfless, kind, and compassionate. Never once did she complain or throw her sorrow at others. Please honor and support the memory of her Mom and Papa. This would mean a lot to Sofia and would also help cover for any of her possible financial burden after graduation.

Sofia's letter to them:
"Dear Mom and Papa,
I can’t believe you’re not here anymore. So much has happened since you passed away, and I wish I could share it with you. It’s been really hard knowing I can’t call you or talk to you ever again. All I can do is listen to your voicemails over and over again, watch a few videos, and look at pictures of you while remembering the happy times. I hope you’re both happy wherever you are and not in any pain. I think about both of you all the time, and I'm hurting. I miss you and wish you were still here. There are nights where I cry myself to sleep and days where I wake up crying because I miss you so much. The grief is overwhelming. Some days, I still can’t believe I lost both of you. That had been my one greatest fear and it came true. I feel so lost without you now.
There were so many things I was going to do for you after graduating and coming home. We had so many plans together that you were both excited about. It was only a few months away. But now it’s not going to be the same coming home without you. I can’t imagine walking through empty halls and cold rooms without hearing your footsteps or your laughter. I just want to hug you. Sit down and eat with you. Talk to you about anything. Just one more time.
But I do want you to know that I am who I am today thanks to you - you taught me how to be a hard working and compassionate person. You gave me the tools that I needed to find my way. Whenever I face a difficult situation, Mom, you taught me how to be strong and resilient. Papa, you taught me to think through decisions carefully and to make smart choices. And you both taught me to be true to myself and to try the best that I can. And I’m trying. You gave me the best childhood anyone could ever ask for, flooded with overwhelming love and patience. You gave me life and happiness. And now, I’m about to graduate PT school and start a beautiful new chapter in life thanks to you. I wish I could tell you I passed my exam and I wish you could come see me at my graduation. I have always wanted to make you proud, and I hope that I have. I miss you more than I can tell you. Jai Shri Krishna, good night, sweet dreams, I love you more than anyone in the whole world.
