We love Eric!

Donation protected
Jenny and Eric have really appreciated everyone's thoughts and prayers during this time and I have heard stories about many people who have served them and others who would like to help more. Because they have been blessed with loving family members and friends, many have asked what they can do to help during this time and if they can donate money to help. Because of the complications from Eric's surgery and his recovery time, it will be some time before Eric is able to work. He also will have his second surgery in six weeks. For those who have asked, I have helped set up with GoFundme and any donations will help with rent, bills, etc. Jenny and Eric are the best people and I know they are humbled and will be forever grateful for the love and service everyone has shown their family. Thank you so much for your generosity!

"This beautiful army of prayerful loved ones has brought this weak, feeble, yet determined patient to tears, as I have been humbled by your countless prayers and well-wishes. From within the walls of the hospital, progress is slow. This isn't a place I would recommend spending much time. My kids tell me that I've aged 10 years since coming to the hospital, when I see them on FaceTime. I'll be honest....I feel like I've aged at least that much.
As far as my medical progress is concerned, it appears that the infection is resolving - I'll have another scan tomorrow to confirm this. If everything looks good, I'll get the drain removed. The other big dilemma is that my bowels are in ileus, which means they're not working normally and are essentially paralyzed from the trauma of the surgery. Before I can go home, they need to be working normally, and the infection needs to be resolved.

God bless you all! Thank you for your kindness and goodness."
Eric wrote this update earlier today. They had to put the NG tube back in until things start moving. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Eric Update: Another roadblock for him. They took the NG tube out and Eric's comfort level was better but he just wasn't making any progress. He's had no energy and if he'd exert himself at all, he'd start sweating and get light headed. The doctor did a blood test and found his white blood cell count was high, so they did a cat scan and found an infection. Last night, Eric had to have a procedure to put a drain into the abscess (which was as big as my fist and they drained 2 and a half ounces off). Hopefully his body responds quickly to the antibiotics and his body starts working properly. Thank you for your kindness and prayers.
Last night when we heard about the infection, the kids and I had a special family prayer for Eric. I asked who wanted to say it and they all wanted to, so they each ended up taking a turn and saying the sweetest prayers for their Dad. Please continue to prayer for Eric! I know prayer works.

September 1, 2017:
Eric Update: He's a week out of surgery and pretty miserable. Right after the surgery he was feeling ok until his stomach became so distended that he got really uncomfortable. They ended up putting an NG tube to clean out his stomach until both his small intestine and stomach woke back up. Eric has not been able to eat anything since last Wednesday. This picture is from Monday, and he looks even more gaunt now. The NG tube is very uncomfortable to have in. Eric can't sleep and can't talk much without a lot of pain. Please continue to keep Eric in your prayers. They're hoping to remove the tube today as long as his body cooperates. Thank you for all the love and kindness that has been shown to us. Random packages, messages, and phone calls have been very appreciated. Our moms are making this doable with my mom at home with me and Eric's with him in Spokane.
