Stand up wheelchair

Donnie and I have been talking about this standup wheelchair for awhile and he really likes the idea. He has been having a good recovery and he feels ready to go back to work and this wheelchair will give him more job opportunities, health benefits and could be very useful in his daily life... in our lives! But the most important thing is, I can’t wait until he can hug me again standing up!
Everyone knows how important Donnie is in my life, we just married and I would love to give him this wedding and Christmas gift. This wheelchair will make him happy and his happiness is my happiness too. But I can’t afford $3900 so I had this idea and I say "Why not"!

He had his motorcycle accident almost 6 months ago and now he is paralyzed from the chest down. He has been having a good recovery and he feels ready to go back to work and this wheelchair will give him more job opportunities!

A stand up wheelchair would be helpful for many different things.
– In their activities of daily living, because it gives them new possibilities of reach, therefore a greater independence.
– At the level of health, since it is a powerful tool for rehabilitation and prevention of a number of physical problems associated with being seated, such as pressure ulcers, joint rigidities, osteoporosis, cardiovascular problems, digestive health among many others.
- And the most important I want him to hug me again standing up!

The manual stand up wheelchair start at $3600, which is relatively cheap compared to a standard wheelchair. The one he has for everyday use is $5200 in comparison (yes these things are expensive, lol). It doesn’t make sense to me that insurance pays for a $5000 wheelchair and not a $3900 wheelchair that would benefit him more! And I know it is a gift that I cannot afford on my own but with your help I can use whatever I have to get the best I can get.
