Robbed of Wedding (Venue Files for Bankruptcy)

I wanted to share our story with you all. To begin, we’ve been planning our wedding with Noah's since December of 2018! Throughout the process we were always assured that everything would be amazing on our big day! I (Iana) planned my entire wedding from start to finish without a wedding planner because I truly enjoyed the process of figuring things out and I wanted to make sure that I was able to have every detail just the way we both have always envisioned it.

Our excitement was very quickly turned to sadness, confusion and frustration when we found out that Noah’s was shut down and we wouldn't be getting our money back for our wedding in May! Just when we thought we were done with the planning stage of our wedding we got the worst news we could get.  What upset us even more was the fact that we just met with Noah's on January 28th to finalize our wedding layout and they took almost $1,500 from us on that same day.

As I read the stories of all of the brides in my situation my heart ached for us all. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without someone taking advantage of you.

we've saved up and paid for our wedding on a monthly basis so, with our wedding being only a few months away we are devastated and at a loss for words at what to do!

Tevin (groom) currently works part time and serves as a volunteer track and field coach at Clemson University.

Iana (bride) currently a graduate student at Clemson and has already hospitalized from panic attacks due to the stress of being in school, working part time, being a graduate assistant and wedding planning.

Noah's has robbed us of over $6,500! They didn't let us know at any time they were in any sort of trouble. In fact, we have an email from Noah's from a few months back stating that they resigned their lease and though other locations have been closing they will not be closing!

We have reached out to an attorney and our only options is to file a claim with the bankruptcy court. We have been advised that we are not guaranteed to get our money back through the court and if we do, we don’t know when that will be or if it will be in time for have our wedding. We have also disputed the charges with our bank but because most of our payments were made over a year ago it’s not likely we will get the bulk of what we paid back.

We have been blessed at a second chance at a wedding and were fortunate enough to hire a coordinator just days before this all happened. She has been our rock star in helping us gather the broken pieces and create something new and beautiful! We have found a new wedding venue (at a huge discount) that we are absolutely in love with and have been able to pay a deposit to hold our wedding date. We are asking for help from anyone that is willing and able. We are looking to cover the expenses that we lost to our former wedding venue.

Thank you all so much
