Hello there, I'm Te'Andre. My work as an aircraft technician has allowed me to travel the world, Ghana being one of my favorite destinations. When visiting, I am welcomed at the Volta Orphanage Home, located in the Volta Region of Ghana. As beautiful as the environment is, there are many important structures that require repair and upkeep. This coming July 2019, I am constructing a library there and for that reason, I will need your assistance. There are several other buildings that require repair. The main class hall is also in need, and it is my future goal to assist with its developments as well.
Despite the 150+ children that reside and study there, there are no libraries or study areas available to help them. They have limited writing utensils and a many of the outdated study books are torn and have missing pages. Additionally, the children do not have access to current geography, science, language arts, or math study equipment within a 50 mile range. All of these things saddened me and my mind raced with ideas about how to better serve these children and provide a brighter future for them.
These babies deserve a better education and here's the best part: You get to be involved!
Your donation (and physical presence if you’re available to travel and assist) will go toward the construction of the library and more. The library will be filled with reading books, writing utensils and study materials. If possible, I plan to add such items like a corn mill, clothing, shoes, blankets, toiletries, infant care items, food seeds and several items to assist with physical limitations and mobility. Lastly, I plan to add solar panels. The village often loses power for weeks at a time, I personally experienced this while there. Together, these items will ease the day to day functions and ability to provide for their community.
I have saved $1000 towards the structure itself and I am also using my own personal funds for the flights to make this dream come true. So everything you give will go directly to Volta Orphanage home.
These children are amazing and filled with such vigor and excitement. Our work together can change all of their futures for the better. Your blessing will not go unnoticed and will be accepted in good faith and appreciated beyond measure.
