Like so many businesses, Craig James Laur (Owner of CJL Artistry) has been facing an uphill battle when it comes to keeping his business alive during this pandemic.
CJL Artistry is a small business that focused on builds for event marketing.
But this pandemic has forced Craig and CJL Artistry to pivot and start focusing on his roots of carpentry which is renovations.
He was managing to hang in just like the rest of the small businesses that have found a way to keep moving forward until the unthinkable happened.
When a piece of machinery stopped working he took it upon himself to try and fix it due to not being able to just take it around the corner and get someone to look at it quickly.
While the nail gun wasn't loaded or hooked up to compressed air, upon taking the shield off to take a look inside something released from inside the gun and caused a 5mm laceration across Craig's cornea.
Now Craig has been forced to sit on the sidelines as an infection could end up resulting in the loss of his eye.
So I (Liam DeBoer), have given myself the challenge of running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours in hopes of raising money to keep CJL Artistry Alive.
I will complete this challenge from Friday, March 5th at 8 pm to Sunday, March 7th at 8 pm.
All proceeds will go directly to CJL Artistry and be used for rent and won't touch my hands at any point in the process.
I genuinely appreciate anyone who has a spare dollar helping us make sure Craig has his business to go back to once he has healed and regains full vision.
