We need housing assistance

We are Gary and Michelle Ingrham. 

Though it’s very humbling, we are asking for housing assistance. Our landlord, under circumstances beyond her control, needs to move back in to the house we have been renting for 4 years. She has given us 6 weeks to move out. We were on a month to month contract as she hadn’t updated the contract yet.  She has given us glowing reviews as tenants which may help some.

 Though our credit is decent, being a self employed artist / massage therapist with 4 dogs, makes it hard to find another rental, or approval for a loan. My husband works hard every day at a truck parts warehouse but it’s not enough, sadly. 

 In 2020, both of my jobs (musician and massage therapist) slowed down to a screeching halt due to covid and the only income we had was from Gary, portrait drawing, and our savings, which was depleted.

This year’s events, including the death of my Mother, and my daughter’s wedding, plus having covid, has taken every bit of extra money we had saved back up, for any kind of down payment, moving costs, rental deposits etc. We sold our motorcycle to pay for some of our daughter’s wedding and other bills because we didn’t have enough then. 

Lenders and Landlords both, paint grim pictures due to our lack of upfront funds and 2020’s work income :( 

Maybe, with a little help, we can change their outlook. We are able to pay mortgage or rent of $1800 a month, but on paper, according to the bankers and lenders, self employed artists, musicians, etc, are a tough sell. Especially at our age.

So that’s where we’re at in a nutshell.

It may not seem dire, but to two people with 4 dogs and no extra funds, being forced to the street, and on the verge of being homeless,  it’s frightening. Our dogs are like our kids and having to separate them from each other, and us, makes my heart sad for us all.

So thank you for helping our puppies and us stay together and find housing.
