We Love You Stephanie

Stephanie Van Tassel, or as I know her, Steffybear, is currently undergoing Chemotherapy and Radiation as she bravely kicks Cancer's ass. If you know Stephanie, then you know how positive, compassionate, and selfless she is. What you may or may not know is that she will not ask for help. I know this, and infact, I've done the math... for each Radiation treatment, which she recieves Monday through Friday, she pays $50. For each Chemo treatment, which is once a week, is $50. She has had to go multiple times already to prep, to educate, and to test... again, all at $50 a pop. Then there was the surgery to remove the tumor. That's nearly $4k.

On top of all of the medical bills, she's also a loving single mother and passionate high school math teacher. School is starting right around the time where the chemo is going hit the hardest. She doesn't want to take anytime off... she doesn't want to put pressure on her coworkers... she doesn't want to leave her students. She probably won't let anyone know when she is hurting... this girl would never dream of throwing a pity party. But it's CANCER, here. So let's come together for our beautiful friend, cousin, sister, daughter, grandaughter, partner, teacher, coworker and let her know it's OK to take a break. "It's OK to let those who love you take care of you if and when they can, so you can take care of yourself. "

So, let's come together and help her through this. If you can help alleviate even the smallest amount of financial strain, I'm certain it will help her healing process. If she isn't worried about the money, she can really take the time to care for herself and her beautiful daughter. She can breathe deeper, rest longer, laugh louder, spend more time on caring for her self, listening to her body, and getting through this dark road quicker, so she can get back to her students sooner, and have an even greater peace of mind.
