Our sweet Gretchyn and her family need our help:)
Gretchyn has recently been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease.
After her parents discovered that she was very ill and weak, they brought her to the hospital to get blood work done. That's when they got the diagnosis.
Gretchyn has End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) due to congential renal cystic dysplasia. This means that her kidneys have completely failed and require ongoing support in the form of hemodialysis 3 times a week until she recieves a kidney transplant. Hemodialysis is when her blood is run through a machine and "cleaned" to remove waste products and extra fluid from her body. Some of the complications that arise from ESRD are fatigue, anemia, secondary hyperparathyroidism, and vitamin D deficiency.
Due to this ongoing need, different members of her family(mostly her mom) take turns bringing Gretchyn to the hospital for treatment. Gretchyn has managed to still attend school 2 times a week!
We all love their family and have made this fund for them to hopefully relieve some of the financial burden of this new challenge their family now faces. Thank you all for your contributions and service that you show Gretchyn's family.
