We Are Community's fund for Geoff

Many of you reading this would know of Geoff, many have already taken the time to speak to him, support him and show him that he is cared about. Geoff has been living out of his car which was no longer working, or registered, for around 2 years now, until the windows were smashed out a few days ago. Geoff has had quote to repair the car which will be over $3000 not including labour which was being donated, however there is then no guarantee that something else would not go wrong, it is in really bad shape. Geoff has given us his permission to share his story with you all. Geoff is 53 and is 1 of 6 children. His 2 sisters have the hereditary disease Huntingtons Disease and he thinks he may have it also, he is currently being tested.

He has 2 adult children aged 25 & 26 Geoff didn't know about his younger child until he was 12 years old. His younger child has ASD and D.S. he raised him up until he was 20, then his mother appeared from nowhere and wanted to spend the day with him. She took him to Macca's and never returned. After this heartbreak he was living with one of his brothers who sadly began using drugs so then didn't pay the rent etc. They got evicted 2 years ago. Since then he has been living in his car with the bare essentials as the rental property wouldn't let him back in to claim his goods.  Geoff is currently looking for work, he has a forklift licence and has done labouring before. We Are Community has supported Geoff in contacting Argyle Housing, he now has temporary accommodation and is on the housing waitlist, we are hoping to raise enough money for Geoff to get all of the things he will need, and potentially another car, this is a big ask, but you have already shown that you care by talking to him, giving him meals and coffee, please dig deep here guys
