WAYNE and LINDY BAKER (PLZ SHARE)

15 confirmed tornadoes swept through Oklahoma on Saturday, April 27, 2024. It is a night that many Oklahomans will Never forget.

One of those tornadoes swept through Dickson, OK and affected our family immensely. Wayne, Lindy, & Branson were seeking shelter from the tornado while on the phone with Johnny (Wayne's brother).

During that phone call, Johnny had to hear the unimaginable. He heard the tornado overtake them before the phone went dead. As soon as the tornado passed over Johnny and Kaycie left to search for them. They drove through the debris and were unsure of what they were seeing when they realized they found Wayne's truck, but it was quickly confirmed to them when they heard screaming. With power lines down they had to be extremely cautious as they tried to get to the truck.

Wayne was communicating to them to find Branson because he somehow (we truly do not know how) was able to get out of the truck and seek help. Branson is the brave nine-year-old son of Wayne and Lindy; he ran over a mile in the dark through downed power lines and debris to find help and he achieved that. He made all it all the way to their neighbor/friend, Jason, and brought him back to the scene. Branson is small, but he is so mighty, he is a hero. You think all the time that children are destined to do great things, but Branson has already started on his greatness.

Johnny and Kaycie were working to do whatever they could when Jason and first responders arrived, they worked together to free them.

They are now both at OU Medical Center in Trauma ICU recovering from significant injuries. I will do my best to list all of their injuries: Wayne has a broken back, neck, sternum, ribs, arm, several stitches and lost part of a finger. Lindy has a broken back, neck, broken jaw, broken right hand, broken ribs, numerous staples and a punctured lung.

If you can help in anyway, we are very appreciative of any support you may be able to offer Wayne, Lindy, Branson, and Bristol. Wayne and Lindy are self-employed, they are unable to operate their business in the condition that they are in. Any help that you can offer is greatly appreciated. Their recovery individually and as a family is long, but it is our hope that we can somehow take some of the weight of that evening off of them. Our family has decided to raise the goal amount due to the very extensive after care that Lindy will have after leaving OU Medical Center. Thank you!! Teri - (sister)
