Wattle Hill Kindergarten Fundraising 2020

Wattle Hill Kindergarten is a small, community managed early childhood education service that has provided a vital role to the children & families of Burwood VIC and neighbouring suburbs for more than 50 years. Our core education team have been together for 18 years providing quality early childhood learning in the Reggio Emilia approach.

Our usual annual fundraising target is a minimum of $10 000 and is sourced via such traditional avenues as cake stalls, BBQ's, fetes, silent auctions & trivia nights. However, due to this years pandemic & subsequent home isolation & cancellation of all events (to date) we need to explore alternative avenues to assist us with procuring these necessary funds.

During the current emergency we have had to react quickly (like many educational services) to create some online learning content for our children, and this has highlighted some major deficits in our outdated (approx 2006) technology. We desperately need funds to enable a fast upgrade of some computer equipment & software, which will dramatically streamline our operations & systems for both educators & our children, present & future.

Additionally, nature & outdoor play is foundational for children & a huge part of the Reggio Emilia ethos . Recent audits have suggested that the playground equipment in our garden is in need of an upgrade, and the majority of the funds we raise from this campaign will also go directly to improving this essential facility. 

Every donation, regardless of the amount, will be a huge contribution in keeping Wattle Hill Kindergarten & its educators caring for our children for years to come.
