Waterman of Tsavo needs Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
Now that I’m learning more about the “#WatermanOfTsavo” Patrick Kilonzo Mwalua. I’m learning how truly modest he is. He will ask for his animals but he won’t ask for himself. Which is why I will. Come to find out Patrick was not able to get a kidney transplant several years ago due to poor donor-kidney conditions. Patrick has been on dialysis for 9 years now! Even though dialysis is a lifesaver, long term dialysis erodes body tissues.

One of Patrick’s relatives has offered him a kidney but Patrick needs money for the transplant. As well as for travel to be able to get the transplant.

Although travel is hard on a person who is on dialysis, Patrick has done much research himself in Kenya regarding his transplants options, and in fact his Nairobi doctor (nephrologist) has urged him to seek the transplant outside of Kenya. And for him to go to hospitals experienced at performing transplants. Therefore money for airfare will be needed too for travel to places like South Africa and India or Europe.

There are also the after-transplant-drugs, which for the first 3 years are expensive because one has to use lots of drugs. Then after that there’s a reduction in drugs, but he will never stop using them. It’s a life time assignment.

I suggested starting a Medical GoFundMe so we can get him his transplant. Patrick does fantastic work. As the Waterman of Tsavo he is well-known and highly respected for keeping wildlife alive by simply bringing them water. Water not available because of the drought. This is a lot of work. Patrick’s been doing this since 2016. While being on dialysis twice a week and I had no idea. I think the world needs him. Wildlife in Kenya needs him for sure. I think we all need him. At the same time doing this life-saving work for wildlife is exactly what is keeping Patrick alive.

Any and all donations are welcome, so hopefully Patrick can soon start the journey of getting testing for both himself and the donor. With the ultimate goal of getting his transplant. Thanks everyone so much in advance for all your help. I see how caring and loving all of Patrick’s supporters are. Thanks everyone so much for all you do to help sustain Patrick and his Wildlife Conservation Efforts in the Tsavo Ecosystem. His recent Wildlife GoFundMe link is here: https://gofund.me/826933bb.

Patrick’s wildlife saving work can be found on most social media platforms under his full name as well as under the Waterman of Tsavo.

Please share this Medical GoFundMe far and wide so we can hopefully help give Patrick restored health. For transparency Patrick will chronicle his journey in this GoFundMe as well as on several social media platforms off and on. So we can all stay posted on his progress.

Thank you again on behalf of Patrick Kilonzo Mwalua and his family. And on behalf of his American friend Berny Killingsworth
