A rugged 3 hour trek west of Port-au-Prince brings you to Anse-à-Veau, a small rural village in the south-west region of Haiti. The village has never had its own fresh-water well and Anse-à-Veau villagers must walk 1 ½ hours roundtrip each day to retrieve the fresh water their village needs. With the help of Water For Life (WFL), a U.S. based non-profit organization that has drilled over 1600 wells in Haiti, and i’mME, an organization working tirelessly to tell the stories and change the lives of the overwhelming numbers of orphaned children in Haiti, we have facilitated the drilling of Anse-à-Veau’s first fresh-water well.
WFL was able to secure a grant that will pay for 58% of the drilling cost, I’m working to raise the funds to complete the well and make a charitable contribution to I’mMe .
