Water Fight Challenge for Ukraine

For our third year C.S.P.E Action Project we; the students of class Conall, St Peters Community School, decided to raise funds to support the Aid effort in Ukraine.

We decided that we wanted to support the work of the Irish Red Cross in their work with Ukrainian refugees. Therefore, all money donated to this GoFundMe page will be transferred to the Irish Red Cross. The reason why we wanted to support Ukraine through the Red Cross is explained by their online appeal,

"A staggering 18 million people have been affected by the escalating conflict in Ukraine.

As the fighting continues, up to five million people are expected to flee into Poland, Hungary, Moldova and Romania. Many will do so with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Throughout this tragedy, the Red Cross has been on the ground – providing essential aid and services to people in desperate need of shelter, food, water and medicine."

This is why we wanted to help, we believe in the work of the Red Cross.

As part of our action project we wanted to see how many people we could motivate to support the cause, so we came up with the "Water Fight Challenge."

Basically, we had a water fight in school, recorded it, put it online and challenged two other schools to do it. The school could

A) do the water fight and raise E100 by each person in the water fight getting sponsored

or

B) Not do the water fight and try to raise E200 in some other way.

After that, those schools then have to challenge two other: schools, sports clubs, workplaces, etc to do the challenge.

It's not only those classes/clubs/workplaces etc that can donate on this site, it's anybody who feels as though they would like to support the Irish Red Cross appeal.

This is a great cause; one which we hope you can get behind.
