Watch Out Cancer, Lindsay is Coming for You!

Cancer. A word that invokes so many emotions for everyone. A word no one ever wants to hear. A word that likely has had a profound impact on your life or the life of someone you know. A word that can change a person's life in a matter of minutes and make even the strongest of us crumble under its weight.
We all know that cancer doesn't discriminate and seemingly chooses victims at random. But cancer is also stupid as sometimes it chooses someone who refuses to be a victim, because she is a fighter and a survivor. Cancer messed with the wrong person, and now Lindsay Hamrick Smith is coming to kick its ass.
Lindsay was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in late July after an enlarged lymph node was initially biopsied and later removed. Since then, her medical team has settled on a treatment plan that will involve several rounds of chemotherapy and possibly radiation as well. Lindsay has completed a few treatments of chemo already and is settling into the new normal of kicking cancer's ass.
For those of you that know Lindsay, you know she's a former public educator (math teacher) and now works with Duke's TIP program continuing to help shape the futures of America's youth. She is one who never complains, is always smiling and sleeps in the most random places (like in an office at a party). She also loves to play volleyball and is a hell of player who is known for her powerful left-handed swing and the fact that she prefers to play on the left side as a left-hander. Lindsay is that friend that you can always count on to be there for you no matter the time or the circumstances. Lindsay is one of the toughest people we know and a true warrior.
Lindsay's friends and family along with the volleyball organization that her and her husband, Brian, help run (Hang 10 Volleyball) have organized this GoFundMe campaign to help defray the various costs that will come up as Lindsay works day-after-day to kick cancer's ass.
