Wasting Arrows started in 2012 with a dream of spreading the joy of archery to our community. We wanted a clean, fun and safe place where friends and families could meet and enjoy our awesome sport. We wanted to be able teach people how to shoot out of Nevada's extreme weather and winds.
Since we have opened we have done thousands of lessons, provided countless hours of family entertainment, and created an amazing archery community in Reno.
Along the way we started an award winning JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) Program and traveling team. Wasting Arrows has become the home of countless State Champions and several National Champion archers. We are a place where young people can go to get the training and coaching they need to achieve their archery dreams. We have coached kids to compete at the national level and several have made national level teams up to and including the United States Archery Team. We hosted seminars with famous archery coaches and Olympians, such as five time Olympian Khatuna Lorig, Reo Wilde and George Ryals.
When the Mayor asked that all non-essential business close due to the corona virus we were quick to comply. We believe that archery is essential to our souls but the safety of our students, customers and staff is paramount.
The closure of our facility is a massive financial blow, we want to continue to be here for our community when the COVID 19 virus is under control. Your donation will help assure that we'll be wasting arrows far into the future.
