Wasabi's War

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Jessica Latimer and I've created this campaign for my baby brother Gregory. For those of you that know Gregory, you know he has a pup named Wasabi who's been by his side the last 3 years. She's not just a pup, she's his side kick, she's family, and she had been through everything with him.

On August 5th Gregory took Wasabi to the vet for vomiting, 105 fever, and not eating. They did an abdominal ultra sound and diagnosed her with a bacterial infection and prescribed her Metronidazole. Within 48 hours Wasabi had worsened, still wasn't eating, was rapidly losing weight, and the antibiotics weren't touching the infections so she was brought back to the vet on August 7th for more testing and IV fluids. Gregory still had no answers and Wasabi was getting worse by the day.  She was taken back to the vet on the 8th, 9th, 11th, and 15th for more fluids and bloodwork. The bloodwork results were finally back, but the only answers he received were that her liver levels were elevated and her Lyme test came back slightly abnormal. They decided to start her on medication for Lyme disease on the 16th of August. The vet in Olive Branch said they had hit a dead end and didn't know what else to do for Wasabi so they suggested to bring her to a specialist.

Gregory made the decision to bring Wasabi to the Wise Center at Mississippi State University. Where she was admitted to the ICU for 5 days. They did a CT scan which had shown an enlarged liver, spleen, and lymph nodes. Wasabi was sent home still without any answers. She continued deteriorating, stayed confused, couldn't even hold the weight of her own head, and was losing control of her back legs with everyday that passed. August 27th Wasabi was readmitted to the ICU at the Wise Center. We still don't have any answers, but a spinal tap and MRI is needed to move forward because they are concerned Wasabi has meningitis. The testing/treatment plan has been estimated for anywhere between $6,000-$10,000 and Gregory has already spent over $5,000 on the testing and treatment already done.

I'm coming to you all for help. Gregory has put his truck up for sale to help with medical expenses, but still no luck and decisions have to be made immediately. If you find it in your heart to donate anything to put towards Wasabi's War, please do. I promise to continually update this page. Wasabi is only 3 years old and as I said previously is Gregory's rock. We're fighting to do everything we can to keep her alive. If you can't donate, please share. Every share helps. I thank you all for taking the time to read this, please keep Wasabi and Gregory in your prayers, and have a blessed day!
