To help defray the costs involved with self-publishing, I am accepting contributions of any dollar amount. Anyone who contributes at least $25 to the campaign receives a signed copy of the book. While the print and electronic versions are available, I would like to record an audio version.
My financial goal is $8,422, which represents the approximate cost to publish the book – editing, cover design, printing, etc. Contributions are not tax-deductible, but I plan to contribute a portion of the proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association, the disease that took my mom and grandpa.
Here is a summary of the book:
"Running up and down Pikes Peak, a 14,000-foot tall mountain in Colorado, was great preparation for the life changing moments Greg Kalkwarf experienced in a 13-month period in 2012 and 2013: a raging wildfire, the tragic death of a family member, the happy birth of a baby girl, a crosswalk collision with a taxi cab, and a terrorist bombing at the finish line of Boston Marathon. His journey encompasses a spectrum of emotions, captured in a 26.2 chapter book reflecting the miles of a marathon experience."
