Walter
Donation protected
On February 25, 2018 I received a phone call from a friend who lives near a park in Fultondale, Alabama. This little guy had been on her doorstep for two days - we believe someone dumped him off. He only weighed about 9 lbs and the vet said he is 4-5 years old. We posted about finding him, but nobody claimed him so gladly accepted Walter into the family as his personality clicked with us and Dexter. Being a Daschund, Walter is one of many that suddenly has a herniated disc in his lower back, making his back legs immobile. He has been in the best care, but after multiple opinions it appears we only have 3 options regarding his future. He has already exhausted one option - which was to pump him full with steroids. Unfortunately he did not respond to the medications. Second option is a surgery to repair the affected disc & prevent the surrounding discs from the same thing happening to them. Last option being the unfathomable- that is why we are pleading for help to save this dog. Walter was clearly mistreated prior to joining our family - and we don’t want it to end here. Please consider donating to this fund that will allow Walter a better quality life. We look forward to the chance of giving this dog the happy and healthy life all pets deserve.
