Walter Needs Help

Some of you kind friends encouraged me to do this, so even though it's hard for me to ask for help, I'm going to step out of my comfort zone and post this:


Walter the Cat, our personable and dapper companion, needed emergency hospitalization suddenly and is being treated for life-threateningly low potassium levels. His prognosis for recovery is excellent, and his continuing home care after his electrolytes are back in normal range should be easy to manage, but getting to the bottom of what is causing this to happen so it can be treated appropriately requires several diagnostic tests and imaging that are making his vet bill unaffordable.


The only option I have right now re: paying for Walter's care is the money for my son's generous Christmas gift to me of a trip to Costa Rica, but not going on this trip would break my heart and disappoint Peter terribly. So we're in a bind and would be grateful for any assistance we can get from Walter's fans.
