It is with both a heavy heart and a commitment to honouring the legacy of our beloved patriarch, Walter Humphreys, that we announce the establishment of The Walter Humphreys Legacy Foundation. Wally, an inspirational community leader and retired school principal, has always motivated others to achieve success, which is why he chose a career in education. This foundation is designed to help support motivated and forward thinking learners who have the qualities he most cherished: Kindness, Positivity and Tenacity.

To ensure that Walter’s legacy can continue to inspire future generations, his family is working to establish scholarships to benefit future community leaders and students training in cancer research, home health, palliative care and education . To that end, the family have decided to quickly set up a personal GoFundMe page to accept any donations from everyone interested in contributing to this positive educational initiative. All donations received will be deposited into a Walter Humphreys Legacy Foundation trust account, requiring multiple signatories for distribution, and will be used to fund scholarships (including covering any associated administrative and legal expenses that may be incurred). Any withdrawals or transfers will require the signatures of at least two signatories, one of which will be Walter’s wife, Nelda.

This personal fundraising effort to establish and fund legacy scholarships in Walter’s name is hosted by Nelda, Susan and David, as family members who loved Walter immensely. It is not sponsored by or affiliated with any secondary organization, and the family is responsible for all funds collected.
