Walpole Juneteenth 2021 Celebration
Donation protected
On Saturday, June 19th, 2021 from 4-8pm on the town common, Walpole will be celebrating its 2nd Annual Juneteenth! This special event is being organized by the community to celebrate Black culture, educate the community about Black history, and raise funds for the Walpole Multicultural Book Initiative, which brings multicultural books to the Walpole public library and Walpole public schools.
A DJ will keep the block-party feel going in between performances of singers, dancers, spoken word artists, and other entertainers from the Black community or inspired by Black culture. People will enjoy food trucks providing food from Black-owned local businesses.
We are raising funds now to cover the cost of the event logistics as well as pay the professional performers their due. Paying artists responsibly and fairly is especially important now, as so many have suffered income loss during COVID times.
