Walking For Lav - Warrington to Blackburn

On the 21st January, our world fell apart when Lavo was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. To say we weren't expecting to embark on a journey like this when he is only 35 is an understatement, don't think we have processed it yet that he has cancer. We have had a very rocky road since diagnosis to establish what type of cancer he has but the official diagnosis is Diffuse large B cell Lymphoma which is a type of non-hodgkin lymphoma - a cancer of the lymphatic system. Due to the type of cancer and the fact it is in his liver as well as his brain, the treatment will be very intense and there will be a long road to recovery afterwards. There will be hospital stays for a week at a time for the chemo and then stem cell treatment at the end will require a month long stay. Matthew won't be able to work for at least 12 months, he can't drive, he can't even have a beer but he can beat this From Mel xxx

Myself, Gaz and Nico thought we could help Lav, Mel and the kids by raising some money to reduce the burden of him not being able to work.

As most of you will know Lav is a big Blackburn fan, so we have decided to embark on a 30 mile walk from The Halliwell Jones Stadium to Ewood Park, Blackburn.

The plan is to set off from The Halliwell Jones Stadium at 06:00 on 17th April (covid restrictions allowing) and arrive at Ewood Park around 17:00.
