Walking a Marathon to help my Uncle #Kirksmiles

On June 21st 2020 my uncle, Kirk Smith was tragically involved in a motor cycle accident in New York which resulted in Diffuse Axonal Injury (traumatic brain injury). He's presently admitted to the ICU at a level 11 Trauma Centre (The Hackensack University Medical Centre), with a severe brain injury and is in a comatose state. He is and will be maintained by a mechanical ventilator for an unspecified timeframe. My Uncle Kirk was an incredibly active son, brother, dad, cousin, uncle, partner and friend and will undergo many months of physiotherapy. Kirk has been a driver in New York City and New Jersey for years. He put in long hours, often working 7 days a week to support his family. The future looks very different now for him and his family.

I want to raise money to do all that I can to help my uncle and his family. I cannot even start to imagine the pain that they must be suffering seeing their husband/ dad in pain. I want to help relief the stress of the medical and recovery bills because in America they aren't as lucky as us, as they don't have the NHS.

I will be walking 42km over the space of two days ( 11-12th July)so please sponsor me. All the money we raise will contribute to helping Uncle Kirk and his family.
