Struggles with mental health have been and continue to be so prominent in everyday life. Everyone in some form or another have struggled with their mental health, some more severe than others, some reach out for help and some not. It’s been a topic that for generations has been swept under the carpet and not fully understood or explored even today.
Because of this, we are wanting to raise money for two charities, Mind & Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide. Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Their campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide are a self-help organisation and aim to provide a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings.
Both charities are really close to my heart, after sadly losing my Mam last year, I know first hand how great both of them are! We want to encourage people to speak up, talk about their mental health and get the right support and help.
On Sunday 16th May we are going to embark on a 12 hour walk, 6am until 6pm dressed as superhero’s, carrying a total of 50kg between us. Along our journey we are going to be leaving little “pick me up” notes with the hope of making someone smile one day.
