Walk with Holly

This is my friend Holly McCann, Holly is 26 years old and on the 24th March 2019 Holly's dreams came true when she became a mum to the most perfect little boy, Alfie and on the 17th August 2019 Holly married her best friend. Holly's happily ever after was short lived as on the 14th November 2019 they got the devastating news that Holly has breast cancer and secondary bone cancer that is 'incurable'. Holly underwent 4 different types of chemotherapy all alongside being a new mother. Holly has remained positive throughout and kept the mindset of "incurable doesn't mean terminal".

Then on the 25th February 2020 Holly was ecstatic to find out she wouldn't need anymore chemo as the bone cancer was stable and one tumour in the breast had gone whereas the other two where mm in size and Holly would be ok on cancer blockers. However shortly after Holly began to feel unwell and was admitted to castle hill  due to double vision and nausea. After some tests, on the 23rd June 2020 Holly found out that her cancer had spread to her spinal fluid and holly was diagnosed with leptomeningeal cancer. Holly has now started chemotherapy again and completely lost her eye sight and the ability to walk properly.

Holly and Alex have remained United throughout this year and fought every bit of bad news thrown their way with their heads held high, from Holly's diagnosis to the both of them being made redundant. Because this awful news is unfortunately out of anyone's control, we thought it would be nice to raise some money for Holly, Alex and Alfie by doing this sponsored walk from Hedon to Withernsea (16.5 miles) and show our support and love so they know they are in everyone's thoughts.
