Medical Bills for - Brandy (WMC)

Brandy is a 7-8 year old bloodhound/german shepherd who we recently acquired from a shelter. She was in need of immediate rescue due to severe emaciation and a serious injury to her tail; she was unable to walk and was obviously in great distress. At the vets it was learned that, in addition to extreme starvation, she had an infection throughout her body which resulted from the wound on her tail. Additionally, there were two fractures at the base of her tail which had caused nerve damage in her hind quarters; it was uncertain whether or not Brandy would ever be able to walk again. It was even more doubtful that she would survive.
Against all expectations, Brandy began to recover. She is now able to eat and drink all by herself. She can also take a slow stroll with little assistance. She is still weak but gets a bit stronger every day. Brandy can use both hind legs although the left foot does roll over occasionally. Brandy is starting to realize that life might possibly have good things to offer.
Her medical bills thus far are around $3000.00 and additionally we expect possibly another $2000.00 in medical bills as she recovers. If we should have any funds leftover they will be used to continue the mission of our organization and provide medical care for other animals in our care.
Mission:We are a group of people united by the common goal of bettering the plight of animals in need. We are a "no kill" organization which provides all necessary veterinary care and training that will help our animals find their "furever homes."
