Remembering Sean

Nous faisons cette collecte de fonds en l'honneur de Sean David Hoover, fils, frère, neveu cousin, ami... tant aimé.
La leucémie a emporté son corps bien trop tôt. Âme pleine de rêves et d'espoir, esprit curieux et courageux, il cultivait les savoirs scientifiques et spirituels.
En sa mémoire, nous voulons semer quelques graines de transformation et de vie:
- Planter arbre en son honneur à la date de son anniversaire le 22 septembre 2021, dans un lieu qui lui était cher...la Sainte Victoire
- Proposer une bourse d'accès à l'éducation démocratique à la Skola Phoenix à Aix en Provence*
- Peindre une fresque près du terrain de basket à Rousset-sur-Arc, où il a passé de nombreuses heures

Le projet de Skola Phoenix fait partie d'un réseau grandissant d'écoles démocratiques au niveau national et international. Sean a pris connaissance du projet à ses débuts en 2017-2018, voulant apporter son soutient. Après avoir enfin trouvé un lieu, l'école prévoie d’ouvrir ses portes pour la rentrée 2022.

Les écoles démocratiques sont basées sur une approche d'inclusion des élèves dans l'apprentissage et les décisions dans la classe et la vie scolaire. Elle se fonde sur la confiance que, dans un cadre riche, bienveillant et sécurisant, les élèves feront appel aux ressources qui leurs sont propres et nécessaires pour se développer au mieux et de la façon qui leur correspondra.

We are raising funds in memory of Sean David Hoover, beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend…
Leukemia took him from us too soon. A soul full of dreams and hopes, curiosity, and tremendous courage, Sean nourished scientific and spiritual ways of knowing the world and this spirit of his remains.
In his memory, we would like to sow a few seeds of liveliness and transformation:
- Planting a tree in his honnor on his birthday, 22nd September 2021, in a place he loved dearly, the Sainte Victoire
- A scholarship to enable children to access democratic education at Skola Phoenix in Aix-en-Provence*
- A mural near the basketball courts in Rousset-sur-Arc where he played many a game
*A bit more about Skola Phoenix:
The Skola Phoenix project is part of a growing national and international network of democratic schools. Sean got to know about the idea of starting such a school in Aix-en-Provence in 2017-2018 wand wanted to support it. After finally finding a place, the school plans to open its doors in September 2022.

The philosophy of democratic schools is to include students in learning and decision-making in the classroom and school life.
