In July 2019 I will be lucky enough to represent my country at the European Sprint Triathlon Age Group Championships in Kazan, Russia! This is a fantastic opportunity and one that will be the culmination of a lot of hard work and effort over the past two years.
The event is coming at a significant financial cost; GB Age Group athletes are not professional athletes and so are expected to fund their own travel, accommodation, Visa and race fees.
In addition to hoping to raise funds to support my trip to Russia, I will be raising money and awareness for 'Cancer Research UK'. We will be running a 'Race for Life' for Cancer Research as part of our 'Oak Bank Olympics' at the school where I am a PE teacher. Any money raised will be split between the two causes.
