Help for Marilyn!!

Our family is asking for help for our beloved sister/sister-in law,  wife, mother, daughter, friend, Marilyn Authenreith.  In 2013 at the age of 48, she decided to go to school to become a paramedic, she graduated in 2015.  She was very excited to start her career immediately after graduating.  Being a paramedic gave her the opportunity to have a postive impact and interact within the community of our beautiful mountain town in Watauga County, NC.  She LOVED her job, but in 2017 she was diagnosed with  cholangiocarcinoma  (bile duct cancer), a rare and aggressive  disease.  She was unable to continue working and did not qualify for disability.  She has been receiving  treatments at UNC Chapel Hill, NC.  She has been making the appoximately 6 hour round  trip almost weekly for about a year, with many hospital stays during some of those weeks for additional testing and treatments.  There have been ups and downs during this year, but she has been "managing".  She is a mother of two beautiful girls and an amazing husband that will do anything to make sure she has the opportunity to receive the treatments she needs.  Her  oncologist has suggested that she switch her treatment to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, a hospital that specializes in the type of cancer she has.  This is 20 hours from her home, and, because there will be several treatments required,  she has since learned that the back and forth travel, treatment, lodging, and loss of family income is not sustainable for her family.   If there is any way you can help Marilyn and her family's  continued efforts to fight this disease, and recieve the best treatment for her rare cancer,  they (all of us) would appreciate any donations towards her fight.  Her first appointment is in September, so there is an  urgent need in providing her with the funds to allow this trip and trips to follow, and provide the comfort of her husband and daughters to help in the battle of this rare disease.   We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, any help will be so appreciated.  Much love.....
