Hannah Mrani is a bright, kind, caring, outgoing 15 year old girl who lives full time with her father, a law enforcement officer, and a younger brother in the Town of Poughkeepsie and attends Spackenkill schools.
She is a freshman at Spackenkill High. Like any other 15 year old girl, Hannah spent this past year studying, doing homework and hanging out with friends. She loves to listen to music and post on Instagram. She has been involved with drama/theater production and Leo Club among other things in Spackenkill schools but recently her life has been turned upside down.
Hannah was just a weeks from finishing her freshman year at Spackenkill High School when she was taken to the hospital by her father on May 23, 2019 complaining of a stomach ache. After a whirlwind of tests, what they thought was just a stomach ache turned out to be a very rare form of ovarian cancer.
While her friends were studying for final exams, Hannah had to endure extensive abdominal surgery in order to remove a large tumor and other affected organs.
While her friends are busy making plans and having fun over summer holiday vacay, Hannah will be undergoing weeks and weeks of chemotherapy which is scheduled to start at the end of June.
This experience is something no one, let alone a 15 year old girl, should ever have to endure.
Hannah has a very long road ahead of her. She is currently getting treatment at Maria Ferari Children's Hospital. Her father has obtained a 2nd opinion from a world renowned expert in the field. She is in good hands thankfully.
It is unknown right now how long she will have to be hospitalized and what the outcome will be, however doctors are optimistic.
Hannah is a tough young warrior!
This campaign has been put together by a trusted member of the family (father's fiance Anna) on behalf of Hannah to acquire funds to support Hannah through this difficult time. ALL monies donated will be used for Hannah's benefit, expenses and Hannah's future 100%.
