Support Katie's Fight Against Breast Cancer

Katie is a loving wife, amazing mother, and future Registered Nurse. If you know Katie at all, you know she would give you the shirt off of her back without a second thought. She goes above and beyond for the people she loves without asking and she's just a kind and loving friend and human.

Katie had her routine mammogram in February of this year and was asked to return for a second screening. In that second appointment, her doctor found a suspicious mass and ordered an ultrasound which showed a 7mm mass in her breast. The biopsy confirmed Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) Breast Cancer.

Despite the shock and fear, Katie continues to work full-time in Dialysis, support their two girls in their schooling and athletics, help run the household with her husband, and pursue her Registered Nursing degree. Katie faces a tough road ahead with a double mastectomy surgery on May 28th and then reconstructive surgery this Summer.

As Katie focuses on her upcoming surgery and fighting the battle ahead, we are rallying together to support her in any way we can. One of the biggest challenges she faces is the financial burden that comes with surgery, hospital bills, and the inability to work for several weeks.

While Katie and her family remain positive about this unfortunate diagnosis, they have learned that the surgery and recovery will be a long and difficult road physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. That is why we are starting this GoFundMe donation - to provide Katie with the financial support she needs to alleviate some of the stress and worry during this especially challenging time.
