This is the most important thing I never thought I’d have to write.
Kelli Hendricks-Burkes, has spent the greater part of her life working hard by helping others as a medical professional taking care of your families, friends, and other loved ones.
Now she needs your help.
On Saturday, January 6th, 2018, Kelli was hospitalized – what started out as a common flu rapidly escalated to septic shock, and that which has landed her intubated and in a coma. In the midst of all this, she has also battled fevers, pneumonia, low blood pressure, and renal failure, among other horrific things.
When she wakes up, she will still be hospitalized for at least 6 weeks. Then, upon leaving, she will require a totally new way of life: a radically new diet consisting of highly organic, natural foods, ongoing immuno- and physical therapy, numerous medications, a special bed, specially-made clothes, even homemade detergent, hair and skin products, a wheelchair and retro-fitted ramp – the list goes on and on.
Additionally, she will need dental work and help paying for the everyday things of life; her car insurance, car loan, and other day-to-day bills. Travel will also be necessary so if she needs to go to a more specialized place, she can.
All of this will cost upwards of tens of thousands of dollars that we don’t have. The entire Hendricks family is humbly asking for your donations of any value so we can give back to Kelli what she has given to others -- a normal, comfortable, second chance at life. Thank you.
