Metastatic Breast Cancer
Donation protected
My recent metastatic (Stage 4) breast cancer diagnosis means new complications and expenses for me. This comes only one year after I finished treatment for Stage 1 triple negative breast cancer. I will be starting chemo soon for an undetermined amount of time, potentially longer than a year. The effects of chemo are extensive and cumulative.
I’ve always hated to ask people for anything and if I can manage something on my own I will, but the reality is that cancer is very expensive.
* Beyond the predictable medical-related expenses (many not covered by insurance) there are peripheral expenses that aren’t obvious at first glance—one example, hiring people to take care of home maintenance and other tasks that I won’t be able to fulfill during debilitating chemo treatment.
* My mom wants to be here as long as possible and I’d like to help her with the expenses that are involved for her.
* Last time I had cancer I worked throughout treatment. This may not be possible during the upcoming phase due to the progressed nature of both disease and treatment.
It’s time for me to set up a Go Fund Me where friends and loved ones who are willing and able can help. Less stress about finances during the long road of treatment ahead will definitely help. Thank you!
