EMERGENCY MEDICAL FUNDING

Tax deductible
Mt. Pleasant recently rescued 3 dogs who unbeknownst to us, needed 3 different and expensive surgeries. Tony Stark(5 years), Pollyanna(5 years), and Tootsie(12 years) surgeries were all very extensive and racked up a medical bill that we were not prepared for.

Tootsie was left, abandoned with another dog in an apartment building in Newark. She was severely matted with her hair in a long braid, skin full of blackheads and clogged pores from lack of care, long nails that made it hard to walk on, and her teeth were in such poor condition that it was hard for her to eat comfortably. She is very people-oriented, seems to like other dogs, and a wonderful companion dog. She is very spiritedly and active for her age. Tootsie has to undergo a spay and dental, both very difficult procedures given her age, but made a full recovery.

Tony Stark is a gentle, mild mannered, happy dog that acts more like a puppy than his almost 6 years. He was left in the home with his deceased owner in Irvington, and no family came to claim him. He loves attention and wants only to be with his people. He was a matted mop when he arrived, and we soon realized he had a massive issue when he was urinating blood. After a urinalysis, a shave down, vet visit, and X-rays, it was determined that a cystotomy, or removal of bladder stones by surgery, was the best choice so as not to continue to cause detriment to his bladder and urethra. Tony Stark's surgery was a success and made a full recovery.

Pollyanna, full of energy, playfulness, and as sweet as can be, was offered up to our kennel manager at a flea market in English-town, because the owner could not afford the hernia surgery repair the dog much needed. She has a low grade heart murmur and luxating patellas (due to her parents and ancestors being over-bred), and two massive subcutaneous swellings in her inguinal region which needs repair during her spay. It is almost as if a large water balloon is being carried, hanging off her abdomen. This surgery is one of the hardest to preform even for a veteran veterinarian. Her surgery was also a success and she is still healing.

All of these dogs will be available for adoption soon and MPAS needs all the help we can get to cover their medical bills! $5000 is our goal. Please help a great cause! Mt. Pleasant has been rescuing cats and dogs for 40+ years and your support will help us rescue many more!
