Mission for Mitzi

This campaign for Mitzi Brady, dedicated middle school foreign language teacher, will help defray costs associated with an unexpected diagnosis of stage 3 heart failure. Mitzi is scheduled for a pacemaker and defibrillator February 21st at the age of 49.
This past Thanksgiving Mitzi was diagnosed with heart failure. Originally told that her condition was at a stage 1, out of four stages. In early January, Mitzi and Ron traveled to the Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion and they elevated her condition to stage 3. Doctors have already suggested the possible need for a heart transplant. It has been a very difficult and frustrating road to this point, but they are encouraged that the pacemaker/defibrillator will help restore her health.
Mitzi and her husband have had their share of medical issues. Beginning in 2014 Ron was prescribed very high doses of oral prednisone in an effort to improve his severe asthma. To no avail his health continued to decline and Ron and Mitzi traveled to Denver 3 times for Ron's Bronchial Thermoplasty surgical treatments.
Just as the family was able to breathe a sigh of relief after Ron's last surgery and all was looking better, Mitzi was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Through all of this Ron and Mitzi maintain positive attitudes, and continue to be active their children's lives while both working full time.
Mitzi's current surgery will require her to take 4-6 weeks off work to recover. My hope by creating this campaign is to help the Brady family with the expenses from the loss of income, travel expenses, and uninsured medical costs associated with Mitzi's surgery and treatments.
