Help Rick Walk Again
Donation protected
On 8/23/18 Rick Pelcher had a stroke. He was flown to Renown where he spent three nights in ICU, three nights in the hospital, and then was transferred to Renown Rehab.
Rick spent 29 days at Renown, and unfortunately was dismissed as insurance will only cover 30 days. It's been 6 months. He still doesn't have use of his right arm, he is limited with his right leg, and his speech does not match his thoughts.
Although he is working extremely hard in physical therapy and speech therapy, he still has a long road ahead of him. The doctors say he is very capable of a full recovery which may take up to two years.
Before his accident, Rick owned a snow removal and general maintenance company in South Lake Tahoe, which demanded high physical capabilities and strength. Rick hasn't, and may be unable to work for an indefinite period of time.
With the loss of his income, doctors bills piling up (a new insurance deductible started at the first of the year), and insurance only covers 20 visits of physical and speech therapy -- he may not be able to continue to get the treatment needed to progress his recovery. He is also still in need of a hernia operation which was scheduled for the day after his stroke.
On top of everything else, our landlord has decided to sell the house we live in, and we have 30 days to move. Our faith is strong and we have relied on friends, family and prayers up until this point. We would appreciate any donation you are able to make as this would be a huge blessing. We live in an amazing community!
