Support the Opalka Family

As many of you know, 8 years ago Brian was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Until recently, Brian’s tumor was stable. His family started noticing some changes in his behavior and memory that prompted medical attention.  His Oncologist is in NYC, which you know is over 3 hours one way from home.  On January 6th, Brian was admitted to the hospital where he would undergo brain surgery to remove the tumor.  After an 8 hour procedure, Brian’s family was given the unthinkable news, stage 3 cancer and was labeled as "vicious." The surgeon was only able to remove part of the tumor or it would have affected his legs.  In a short while, Brian will undergo radiation therapy and possible chemo.  They have a very long road ahead and need our support more than ever. 

As far as work, Karen has exhausted all her time with the state.  Brian and Karen have 4 beautiful children and 2 dogs to take care of.  They need our help more than ever.  The financial burden is real and it’s a major obstacle Brian and Karen face.  Out-of-pocket and travel expenses, Co-Insurance, Deductibles, and prescription costs, etc it all adds up. It’s an added stress that survivors and families in treatment know all too well. Financial resources are limited.  The Opalka family needs our help!  Please donate what you can and share with all your friends and family.
