Dan's Surgery

Hi, everyone. This will be a hard message to write.

Back in July, I had an epileptic seizure due to some incredibly stressful circumstances. I was rushed to the hospital where I was eventually discharged after having a mild concussion. After they did an MRI and CT scans, they found a cranial epidermoid cyst.

Some of you may remember I had a cranial Arachnoid cyst removed years ago, so this was pretty devastating to hear. The estimated cost to remove the cyst is $7,500.

Unfortunately, I was denied eligibility for California Covered, California's health insurance. I cannot apply for current governmental healthcare given California Covered is my only option as a California resident. I am currently in the process of applying for Medi-Cal, which would help with the surgery costs.

That still leaves a majority of the surgery costs up to me, including hospital visits I've already had, hospital visits I'll need to have to prepare for surgery, and of course the surgery itself. I absolutely hate asking for help, but I'm not sure what my other options are. Los Angeles is an expensive city, and I have thousands of dollars of bills due every month just to survive. So here I am, asking for a little bit of help. Even something as simple as $5 helps, or sharing this with your friends and family on social media.

I don't see this as a setback, but as motivation to keep fighting. I've dealt with hyper tension and seizures my entire life. I've defeated cranial cysts before. I know I can do it again. I won't give up. Thank you very much for reading.
